It's Wedding Season
Posted: August 23, 2011 By: Leah Jaffee

It is wedding season....and, apparently every other type of event season. I'm buried under just finished, to do and on the horizon.....never mind the calls for events next MAY! This past Sunday, we cater a wedding at a local city park. I marvel, as I drive through the thick foilage and trees, that I am in the city 15 minutes from the kitchen.

 Daybreak Star

The winding road leads to a bluff above Puget Sound. For this event, the chuppah is situated so that the guests face the spectacular view. I don't think this view can be found from any other vantage point in the city that can accommodate a wedding party.

The Daybreak Star Center is owned by the Tribes and rented out. I think it a fabulous place for a wedding, especially in the summer. Depending on the rental linens, etc. the space can be made either elegant or casual. Overall, it is an affordable option for a beautiful simcha.

Hi, Sister,
I am sitting here with my first cup of coffee of the day and on opening your latest email, I chose to sit and read some of your blogs. What a pleasant surprise to see the "family photo" taken in the bakery and I am reminded of all of the events of which I was a part over the five years I worked for you! To those of you in the community whom I came to know, I send my greetings and well wishes. I am beyond delighted to see I can now access so many of the fabulous recipes we made for events. I LOVE your Apple Crown Cake and will have to give it whirl "gluten- free". Kudos on your site - I have not seen anything like it and will have to keep bugging the Food Network about adding you to their TV lineup of accomplished chefs! As for Barney and I, as we enter this phase of our retirement lives, are applying for a custom license plate that will read 'SUNCKR' and sport a bumper sticker that reads "Share the Road with Motorcycles". Life Is Good!
